Simon-the snowman

I don't know why I feel the need to name every snowman I bring into the house, but I do. For the holidays of 2015 the newest snowman I am calling Simon has taken up residence here. I think he's adorable! The other picture is just of when I started decorating the tree. All in all it was a nice holiday. I received lots of stamping goodies this year with my favorite being some new rubber from VLVS! Well, I'm off to stamp! Happy Holidays to everyone!

DT card #1 for VLVS

Wow, over at the Viva Las Vegastamps company they are having a design team call! I just recently heard about it and since I am in love with so many of their stamps and would love to be a part of something so awesome I have decided to try out. My first card is using the stamp #6876 called Bark! The Herald Angels Sing and #5632 Dog Angel. I will buy just about any dog stamp out there because I love dogs of any type so much, but this one looks a lot like my baby Rusty. I rescue dogs and the occasional cat and think they are all divine creatures that can just do no wrong in my eyes. I added some Tim Holtz metal wings for a bit more sparkle.

DT Entry #2 for VLVS My Dream Journal

Dreams are such a powerful thing and just the word brings out so many feeling in me. The first time I saw this whimsical Cyclops stamp #19407 I knew she would be the perfect stamp to help me. I used a blank journal from 7 Gypsies, lots of Dylusions spray, various stencils, a Prima frame that I colored, some buttons, flowers, fibers and a word bead and it just came together.

My DT #3 entry for VLVS

This entry uses the word stamp lets roll #18559 plate 1399 and wheeled cat king #18605 on plate 1402. I just love the little wheeled stamps VLVS creates. As a young girl I always though things were magical at a circus and that's what this little creature makes me think of every time I see it. I paired it with a die from Paper Trey Ink that gives it a circus tent vibe. Actually, I just discovered VLVS has lots of circus themed stamps, and yes I have most of them on order to me already! I couldn't resist. I had hoped they might be here in time to do some entries with them for the design team, but they will arrive just a day or two too late. That's ok they should be here in time to make a great weekend surprise. I just watched one of the videos where Dee Dee said they had about 20,000 individual stamps now. That's great!!! I will show restraint though because I only hope to get a collection of 19,999! haha Well, wish me luck on my entries. I will be sending them in today.

My momma always told me...

I was so excited to get this Viva Las Vegas little stamp! My mother always told me if you are going to do something to be the best at it....well mom...not sure if this is what you were talking about, but I sure am in bitch mode today so I decided to be a SUPERBITCH! I honestly think I deserve a cape some days! haha

I'll still be at the ocean

Viva Las Vegas Stamps must be reading my mind with this stamp called Skeleton Mermaid #19257. I once even asked a stamp designer at another company to do a stamp like this, but it never came to pass. This stamp is seriously perfect and I read online that the owner welcomes personal ideas or stamp orders and may include them in a future plate. There's a few things in my mind I would love to have, but can't seem to find out there anywhere so far. Anyway...back to the tag....this tag was made using a clock face and versamark ink for the background, I added some glue and tiny shells while sprinkling some sand in between the tiny spaces. The metal tag is from Making Memories and I just loved what it said...years gone by....I feel like this will be my soul one day still somewhere by the magical ocean taking in a nice breeze after all the years have gone by.

Sweet Little Gnomes By Day????

Isn't this the sweetest little gnome couple from Viva Las Vegas Stamps. I see these sweet little gnomes in lots of the yards in my neighborhood. Actually my closest neighbor has some on her lawn. I think they look like the front of the card by day, but they totally creep me out and I could swear those eyes watch me! The inside of this card is what I imagine they will be turning into when I come in by myself late at night. I totally hurry past them! haha

A Trip to Oz and Her Secret Friend

Hi all! I was just playing around with some Viva Las Vegas stamps this week and I am loving them! I have always loved everything about The Wizard of Oz and I decided to make my friend a birthday bag today instead of buying one. My friend would love to live in Oz so I know she will love this one. All of the stamps used are from VLVS. You should totally go check them out! Stamps used are:
Oz-#15335 or plate #1245
You had the power/Glenda#19464 or plate #1444

This next card is very simple, but I just ADORE this stamp. I find it kind of spooky actually- which makes me love it more. I used a Darice heart embossing folder with red cardstock, used a sponge tool to go over the raised images in black distress ink, added some lace, added some word tiles, a couple of hearts and that was it. The stamp is called Two Heads and is #18304 or on plate #1384 and is from VivaLasVegas Stamps.

Drag Queen from Lost Coast Designs

For today's card I used the drag queen image from the steam punk section of Lost Coast Designs. I used  a spellbinders arches layering die for the base, added a few dew drops and a bird border from K&Co.

The Birds Continue

After watching old reruns of THE BIRDS by Hitchcock I just had to make a few more bird cards while I had some bird stamps gathered around. I have really been stuck on this theme lately. All of the bird stamps are from Lost Coast Designs/Carmen's Veranda. Ok, time for me to fly on to another topic now!

Birds

I was in the mood to use some bird stamps today. I love these 3 birds from Lost Coast Designs, but I especially love the half human/half bird creature. You never know what you may see as you peek through a keyhole!

Lost Coast Designs Tag Crazy Day

I wanted to make a tag to enter into the Lost Coast Designs monthly contest, but I ended up having so much fun I made 6 before I knew it. I love using these stamps and these seem to be my go to stamps now when making something. There's such a wide variety of stamps in the company that I just want them all somehow! Anyway, here are my latest tags!!!

January Tag Challenge at Lost Coast Designs

I decided to participate in the monthly challenge for January over at the Lost Coast Designs blog. The challenge was to create a tag using primarily their stamps. I just love this feathered bird stamp in Linda's new release section so I knew I wanted to use him for the challenge. I used Tim Holtz distress inks for the background and stamped the main image using an Archival Ink Pad by Ranger in the shade Cobalt. I added some Stampin' Up Night of Navy ribbon a couple of flowers and a dew drop center and it was finished. I had such a great time with this tag I ended up creating about 5 more which will be in my next post!

Naughty or Nice?

Naughty or nice? I'm a little afraid to answer that one myself, but I hope I am on Santa's good list this year because I totally want more of these Lost Coast Designs stamps. I used the stamp called Showgirls here as the focal image and the funny sentiment is from Dylusions.

Merry Skullmas

I recently received my first order of yummy smelling rubber from Lost Coast Designs! It was right about the time they announced a holiday card contest using one of their stamps. I instantly knew I wanted to use something a bit eccentric which is way more me that a traditional holiday card. I finally decided on just the right one. The stamp I used is called White Nose Sugar Skull and comes in unmounted, cling mounted and a mounted version. I am in love with cling stamps these days so I order only those, but I am glad the other options are there. I embossed the background and lightly swooshed a little black over the raised portions. Next I found some awesome little ribbon from The Paper Studio for the side and some sparkly Santa hats for the top and taaa daaaaa....a merry skullmas card was born.

Three Flying Flower Girls by Lost coast Designs

Ooh la la...I love these new Lost Coast Designs stamps I am using today! I used the starburst dies from Stampin' Up to die cut their faces and raise them with a 3-D glue dot. I just love this color blue ink pad as well. It's the color manganese blue from Ranger!

Give Yourself A Hand

I love creating art with something other than a regular shaped card. I have recently discovered a stamp company called Lost Coast Designs and am not slightly obsessed with these awesome stamps. I think the stamp designer there does a fantastic job. I have been stamping for years so I get a little hard to impress I suppose, but these stamps are very artsy and odd, which I think is a PERFECT combination. I have been ordering from Lost Coast for the last few weeks now, and they have excellent customer service and quick shipping time. Today is the first day I have inked up my new stamps, but I am in love with them, and can't wait to get more. The main stamp image I used is called Feather Diva with Face, combined with the Small Doodle Alphabet for my wording, a little Dylusions spray ink and some inspiration.... I love it.

Spooky Cards

Here are my two card designs for Halloween this year. The well dressed skeleton lady is from Cherry Pie Art Stamps. The second card here was a blast to make. I used the Tim Holtz bottle dies, covered the bottles with Diamond Glaze and dripped in a deep red re-inker to have the bottles all oooey and gooey! I loved the 3-D blood goo feel of it all, and I got a great response on all I sent these out too.

2014 Halloween Party

It was time once again for my annual Halloween dinner party. I decided this year's theme would be bats and vampires. Here are a few decorations I had and looks at how I had things set up.

Halloween Dinner Table

The first picture here is of my plates for appetizers, and the main table was for dinner. My lighting in the room was not great, but their are blood red chargers and black plates. For dinner we had lasagna, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, garlic bread and a salad.

Vampire Themed Food

I made some yummy fang sugar cookies, bitten cupcakes, fang donuts, a chocolate coffin cake and my mother made a cheese ball that we tried making into a coffin shape. All in all it was a great little party and I am looking forward to next year's theme already!

Monday Stampin' Up Cards

Here are a few more cards created with new Stampin' Up product. The first two cards are done using the SU arrows embossing folder on pg. 226 of the new 2014-2015 SU catalog. I used a waterbrush and re-inkers for color and the butterfly embosslit die called Beautiful Wings on pg. 229.
The third card is a sparkly card for my cousin that used the star framelit dies on pg. 231. and the last card is my favorite new color combo of crisp cantaloupe, pistachio pudding, and coastal cabana. The stamp set I used is called By The Tide and can be found on pg. 131. I think this is my new favorite set and I see lots that can be done with this one!

Happy 4th of July Stampin' Up Style

Here's a new red, white and blue card for the 4th of July using the Maritime Designer Series Paper and the Sea Street Stamp set on pg. 48 of the new catalog. A bit of the new coastal cabana thick baker's twine finished off the card.
